Volunteer Opportunties

We know that we are stronger when we work together! Our volunteers truly make an impact in our community and with our clients. Whether you are seeking a flexible commitment arrangement or a set schedule each week, A Safe Place has an opportunity for you to be apart of the team. We have opportunities to work in:

  • Administrative Office (episodic support of organizing, filing, correspondence, data entry, etc.)
  • The Shelter (cooking/baking, landscaping/maintenance, grocery/donation pickup, and/or supporting the child & youth program)
  • Donations & New Beginnings Program (sorting donation items, organizing & maintaining inventory, creating hampers for clients/families etc.)
  • Fundraising (annual Golf Tournament in August, annual Tree of Hope campaign booth in November/December etc.)

Here are the expected steps in the volunteer application process:

  • submit online application
  • attend interview with volunteer coordinator, and program staff as applicable
  • complete and submit clear background and record checks
  • attend general orientation to A Safe Place
  • complete any role specific orientation/training

A Safe Place is seeking members of the community to join our Board of Directors. Please email your interest, with subject line “Board of Directors – Volunteer” to hr@asafeplace.ca.

Given our current Board participation, preference for upcoming Director appointments would be given to candidates demonstrating leadership, expertise, and experience.
